This clinic will be held around South Pass, Wyoming, a beautiful and scenic part of our great country. This historic area hosts three ghost towns (the gold rush town of South Pass, Miner's Delight & Atlantic City) nearby which we will visit on horseback. The South Pass region and this clinic is ideal for all levels of riding ability and allows for easy access to historical landmarks and locations such as the Oregon Buttes, Sweetwater River, the Oregon, Mormon, California and Pony Express Trails, Willie and Martin Handcart sites, and gold rush towns. John C. Fremont, his scout Kit Carson and many a mountain man also traversed this region. (Note: This date was purposely chosen a week before the Hole-in-the-Wall Ride & Custer's Ride to Glory so those interested can participate in all three rides) This clinic will be conducted by America's Cowboy, Kevin McNiven, cowboy singer, poet, international entertainer, and I'm pleased to say, my friend and wrangler for over 11 years. Kevin is one of the best horseman and cowboys in North America, and this clinic will be tailor-made for the participant. This week will be customized to suit you, the rider. Once we have the list of participants I'll ask each of you what you want to learn. In fact, this process has already started, with requests for roping, feeling more comfortable in a full gallop, mounted shooting techniques, and more. This will also include a Wild Horse Discovery ride, some fantastic scenic rides, and as always with me, a few fun surprises. Plus Kevin will teach you a few things you didn't think to ask!! We'll accomplish as much as possible based on the abilities of each rider. If you want to improve your horsemanship, your confidence in the saddle and learn cowboy techniques this clinic is for you!
