What Does It Mean When A Cobb Accessport Is Unmarried?
Married Cobbs are sold by people who forget to unmarry them before selling, or total the car or don’t want to lose the map on the car when selling it, or selling the AP. When you unmarry an AP it reverts the car to the map that was on the car when you installed the AP.
Can a Cobb Accessport be unmarried?
If an Accessport was never uninstalled from a previous vehicle, it can be re-licensed, or set to an uninstalled state (aka unmarried). The Accessport is essentially 2 parts: the hardware to flash the vehicle and the tuning license that is installed on the car.
Can you Unmarry an Accessport yourself?
If you are going to remove your Access Port, and return your ECU to stock, you do not have to take your car to a tuner. You can accomplish this yourself with the Access Port. To return your ECU to stock, you are going to have to re-write your base map, so you will need to put your car into test mode.
Can you use a Cobb Accessport on a different car?

Most likely you will have to reflash your ECU back to Stock map from Cobb or Dealership and then purchase a new AP and reflash it. you should be able to buy a new cobb ap and install the tune from that new hand unit. it will over write anything on the ecu.
