Pony Club Achievement Badges are awarded to younger members who have studied a variety of topics on pony care and the environment. The circular fabric badges are designed to be sewn on your branch sweatshirt.
What are Pony Club badges?
The Pony Club offers Mini Achievement Badges for younger Members’ as well as both equine and non-equine Achievement Badges. Both types of achievement badge will help you to learn a wide range of skills like first-aid, farming, map reading, saddlery, road safety and grooming.
Do you need a pony for Pony Club?
You don’t need to own a pony to join The Pony Club!
What is the role of The Pony Club?
The purpose of T he Pony Club is: – to encourage young people to ride and to learn to enjoy all kinds of sport connected with ponies and riding. – to give instruction in riding and horsemastership and to educate Members to look after and to take proper care of animals.
How many areas are in The Pony Club?
19 geographical areas
The Pony Club is divided into 19 geographical areas throughout the UK. Each area has an Area Representative and a Centre Coordinator assigned to them who oversee their Branches and Centres. Each area has its own website which are listed below.
What side do you wear your Pony Club badge?

What should I bring to the Pony Club?
Chaps / Gaiters. Body protector. Riding clothes. Long sleeved shirts, tie and show jacket.

What age should you start pony riding?
In general, with proper supervision, kids can start riding a (smaller) horse or a pony as young as 2-3 years old. Some schools do offer courses for toddlers as the earlier a child gets introduced to a horse, the easier it becomes to be comfortable around them.
How often should a pony be ridden?
If you want to ride in upper-level competitions, it’s not uncommon for horses to get an intense training session 6 days a week. However, if you just want to keep your horse in a healthy physical condition, riding your horse three times a week for at least 20 minutes at a time can help maintain a good level of health.
Can you wear earrings at Pony Club?
No jewellery is allowed for safety reasons, other than a wristwatch, a wedding ring, a stock pin worn horizontally or a tie clip.
What should I wear to The Pony Club test?
You should wear a tweed jacket, with Pony Club badge and felt on the left lapel. Shirt and Pony Club tie. Gloves, correctly fitted body protector for jumping, medical armband, Jodhpur boots and half chaps. Jodphurs can be cream or beige.
Can you be a member of two pony clubs?
A Member cannot join more than one Branch at any one time. All Branch Members will be welcomed as occasional visitors at working rallies or other Branch activities of a Branch other than their own Branch, provided that the agreement of both District Commissioners is obtained.

You will see most people in riding clothes or jeans, so feel free to wear jeans or leggings, sneakers and a casual top. The top doesn’t even have to have a collar, as long as it is well-fitted and conservative.
